Target on Sustainability

Target gets environmental with cotton.

Tarjay hopes to become completely sustainable with their cotton by the year 2020.  Cotton is used in a many Tarjay goods.  In fact, Tarjay is one of the most significant users in the US.  They hope to achieve their goal by using their image to encourage farmers to alter their methods.  Corporate leaders at Tarjay have explained their mission, "To us, sustainable production uses water and chemicals as efficiently as possible, with methods that support soil health, and promotes ethical working conditions." This movement is important to all of the recent brand updates from Tarjay.  The new products are a wide variety of clothing and furniture.  Both of these categories require a lot of cotton.  Making the move to becoming more environmentally friendly will draw more admirers to the Tarjay collection.  This is the beginning of a long line of changes coming up in the Target industry.  Be sure to check back next week for the newest changes.
